The Agency Connection

is an opportunity for musicians, their management and publishers to cut through the clutter and be seen and heard by those who are creating today's content and potentially looking to license music.

Conversely, The Agency Connection allows busy ad agencies the opportunity to experience some of the best of today’s music up close and personal in a way rarely possible until now.

The idea was born from my experience producing a series of showcases (we called them Stereo 550) for an ad agency in metro Detroit. I had the pleasure of presenting artists like Rachel Platten, American Authors, Murder FM, JD McPherson, J Roddy Walston and the Business, Drake White, The Head and The Heart and Phillip Phillips (to name just a few) to the employees. There were many instances of licensing agreements that were made simply based on these showcases.

After I left the agency with Stereo 550 being such a big success I thought why limit artist access to just one agency when the city of Detroit offers a wealth of potential licensing opportunities. So I’m introducing The Agency Connection. A way for artists coming through the Detroit area to stop by one or more of the area’s ad agencies during the day, play a short set (think 4 or 5 songs) and let their music be heard by those who might want to license it. I just ask that the artist be represented by a label or music publisher, have had or has songs in regular rotation on the radio or Spotify and would be open to licensing their music.     A Win Win.
